Hummus and cucumbers
Hummus, not something I enjoyed when I was a wee tot. I don’t know if it was the guttural name, or the chickpeas that turned me off. A few years ago, in my quest to expand my palate (yes, I know I’m a little particular with food but I’m trying!) I sampled some hummus. I liked it.
Why am I posting about it? Well, it is fair game for Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet, so I just ate some (using cucumber slices instead of some sort of carb based treat) and damn was it good.
People, go eat some hummus. You’ll thank me.

Heh. Hummus is not exactly a kiddy favorite. Which is odd, given the popularity of peanut butter in the US. (It’s at least as gross as hummus, when you think about it.)
As an adult, though, yeah it’s good stuff! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten it with cucumber. I’ll try it out…
